June 23, 2018 Ribbon Cutting!

June 2018 Progress Report:

A public ribbon-cutting was held on June 23 to celebrate our new ballfield renovations (booking in 2019), new restrooms (opening soon!), new picnic shelter, perimeter path and play area upgrade. Outside of Moorlands Elementary school hours, the park is open to the public.

February 1, 2018 Progress Report:

Park entry signs have been installed and the split rail fence along 84th.  Construction completion has been delayed while materials that do not meet specifications are corrected.  These are anticipated to be wrapped up in February.  The maintenance shed for the ballfield is scheduled to be installed this month during school break.

January 3, 2018 Progress Report:

Portions of the park are open to use (play area!) while construction continues on park elements such as the ballfield, irrigation, fencing and restroom.

October 1, 2017 Progress Report:

Play equipment is going in during the first part of October!  In addition, paving pathways, installation of the restroom, picnic shelter and backstop are also scheduled for October.  Finishing grading, irrigation, grass seeding, and planting will be underway as well, weather permitting.  Construction is approaching completion at last.

September 1, 2017 Progress Report:

Moorlands Park has seen major work this summer, but most of it is underground: power, water, sewer, conduit for cable, storm drains, footings and building subgrades.  The temporary path between the school and church drop-off points was readied this week for school's start next Wednesday.  The concrete sidewalk along 84th is being formed for concrete now, to be poured next week.  Park pathways have been cut to grade.  The park has passed inspection for its sewer and water installations, storm drainage is mostly in, the ballfield fence posts are going up and the play area storm drainage is going in this week.  Once that is in, work will begin on the play equipment in several stages including footings, play surfacing and equipment installation.  Thank you for your patience; the park will be a noisy place for two-plus months more.
