Panel Discussion on Housing

The Missing Middle - Reconsidering Small Housing Types from the Past

A Panel of developers and architects will discuss the "missing middle" - cottage housing, duplexes, accessory dwelling units, and other small housing types - that once were common in our communities but have all but disappeared in new construction. Panelists will explore the benefits of smaller housing types, concerns about neighborhood compatibility, and whether the "missing middle" really provides affordable housing. Panelists will identify incentives and roadblocks to this type of development and possible strategies to support its consideration. We think the presentation will be informative and thought-provoking and hope you will join us at Kenmore City Hall, 18120 68th Ave NE.
