Kenmore 2014 Special Events Calendar

NW Green Home Tour: Sustainability Stop - Kenmore City Hall
Saturday, April 26; 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Kenmore City Hall, 18120 68th Ave NE
Tour Organizations: NW Eco Building Guild and King County Built Green

The community, both Kenmore residents and NW Green Home Tour participants, are invited to Kenmore's City Hall for a day of tours, and information and education provided by a wide range of exhibitors. The event will focus on the sustainability efforts taking shape now and in the future in and around Kenmore.

Local organizations and vendors have been invited to set up booths and activities for visitors. Examples of the companies or organizations include the City of Kenmore, Northshore Utility District, Weinstein Architects, Barlett Tree Experts, Michael Homechick Stoneworks, Kenmore Library, and others.

Here's the link to the NW Green Home Tour website:

City Hall is one of Kenmore's first projects developed under the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification standards. City Hall sets the bar for the future development of the city's downtown and reflects the community's interest in sustainable development. Kenmore City Hall received LEED Gold Certification.

The City Hall facility includes Council Chambers, community meeting room, city administration offices and space within the building for future expansion. The building is an "essential facility" designed to a higher seismic performance than standard buildings, and includes emergency power generation. Additionally, the Council Chambers, community meeting room and conference rooms serve as a resource to the residents of Kenmore for community and club events.

Weinstein Architects designed the Kenmore City Hall and will provide a short guided tour of the building. For more information about the city hall, visit
