The City of Kenmore is developing its first Urban Forest Management Plan to guide the long-term stewardship of its urban forests. This strategic plan will outline how Kenmore’s trees provide stormwater management, carbon sequestration, and other benefits to the community and will identify goals and priorities for tree planting, canopy cover, and best practices for tree planting and maintenance. Community members shared many thoughts about trees during the Love Where You Live campaign, such as:     

• A desire to preserve existing trees, especially native tree canopy 
• Appreciation for the aesthetic and character of trees
• Support for tree preservation through ordinances
