Juneteenth Recognized in Kenmore

Post Date:06/01/2022

On June 13, Kenmore City Council proclaimed June 19th, 2022 as Juneteenth in Kenmore. Juneteenth is the oldest known public celebration of the end of slavery in the United States and commemorates African American freedom, achievements and successes gained through education and opportunity. Kenmore residents are encouraged to observe Juneteenth in a thoughtful way that acknowledges our collective history, advances racial justice, and honors Black voices. 4Culture has compiled a great list of resources and events to help us celebrate Juneteenth. This year, Kenmore City Hall will be closed on Monday, June 20 in observance of Juneteenth.
