Tambi Cork Headshot

Tambi Cork is currently serving as the Interim Deputy City Manager for the City of Kenmore, bringing more than 15 years of experience in local government and a strong background in human services, strategic planning, and cross-sector partnerships.

Prior to this role, Tambi served as Kenmore’s Housing and Human Services Manager, where she led efforts to expand affordable housing, strengthen regional human services coordination, and advance equity-focused policy initiatives. She spearheaded the City’s first Human Services Needs Assessment and continues to guide the development of the Human Services Strategic Plan. She also plays a key leadership role in “The Approach,” an affordable housing development in partnership with Imagine Housing and Habitat for Humanity.

Before joining Kenmore in 2023, Tambi spent 13 years with the City of Mercer Island, most recently as the Youth and Family Services Administrator. There, she led a full-service human services department providing clinical counseling, school-based supports, senior services, and emergency family assistance. Her tenure was marked by program innovation, successful grant development, and deep community engagement. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and a citywide budget crisis, Tambi guided her department through unprecedented service demand while retaining staff and maintaining service delivery.

Tambi brings a steady and strategic leadership approach to her interim position, with demonstrated success building effective teams and fostering interdepartmental collaboration. At Mercer Island, she built strong working relationships with the Fire Department and Police Department to enhance service coordination, especially at the intersection of public safety and social services. In Kenmore, she has continued to bridge departments and external partners in support of high-profile and high-impact projects.

As Interim Deputy City Manager, Tambi provides oversight and leadership on strategic initiatives, organizational development, community engagement, housing and human services, economic development, public safety and court contracts, and internal operations.

Tambi holds a Master of Public Administration from Seattle University, a Master of Arts in Sociology with a focus on Comparative Politics from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology, also from Stanford. She resides in Shoreline’s Ridgecrest neighborhood and enjoys spending time outdoors and attending local events with her two children.
