City Seeks Candidates for Planning Commission

Are you looking for a way to get more connected to your community? The City of Kenmore is seeking volunteers to serve on the Planning Commission. Candidates must live, work, own a business or property in Kenmore and could be selected to start a three-year term starting in January 2024. Application deadline is September 30, 2023.

The Planning Commission serves as a policy advisory body to the City Council providing guidance and recommendations on the City’s Comprehensive Plan and related land use documents. Administrative rules govern how the Planning Commission conducts its business.

Desirable qualities of a commissioner include a strong interest in the future of the Kenmore community, an ability to review the meeting materials in advance, and being able to communicate well with others.

The seven-member Commission typically meets the first and third Tuesday of each month starting at 7pm at Kenmore City Hall. Meetings are in person with the option of using Zoom if need be. All commissioners are unpaid volunteers.

The City Council is committed to appointing a Commission that reflects the diversity of the community including members from all geographic areas of the City. All residents are encouraged to apply.
