News and Updates:

Development Services is conducting a fee study this year, with results expected this fall.

Fee Schedule

Fee schedules are reviewed and updated annually, or as necessary. They are approved by the Kenmore City Council and detail the fees for a wide range of city services, including permitting. To estimate the permit fee for your project, please refer to the most current fee schedule.

Refunds

In certain limited cases, a full or partial refund of permit fees may be granted. Generally, a full refund is only issued if the City made an error. Fees are not refundable once the service has been provided—for example, if you paid for a building plan review and the review has been completed, that fee is non-refundable. For more information or questions about refunds, please contact the Permit Coordinator at permittech@kenmorewa.gov. To request a refund, complete Form 109 - Refund Request Form and upload it to mybuildingpermit.com under the related permit.

Permit Fee Waiver Program

Homeowners who are lower income may have difficulty paying for repairs and necessary improvements to their homes to provide for safety and accessibility. In order to assist lower-income homeowners in maintaining their homes in a safe and accessible manner, the Kenmore City Council deems it in the public interest to allow the Director to waive certain permit fees. The City Council finds that waiving some of these fees will benefit the public health and welfare of its residents and will encourage lower income homeowners to repair their homes to make them safe and accessible.
