Public Works Operations
The Public Works Operations Department is responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of city-owned infrastructure. This includes managing various aspects such as streets, surface water, parks, buildings, vehicles, and equipment to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, the department takes charge of organizing and executing City-run special events, coordinating volunteer efforts, and managing recreational activities offered to the community.
The Public Works Operations Department is structured into several divisions, each with its own defined responsibilities and tasks. Street & Surface Water Maintenance, Park & Streetscape Maintenance, Facility & Fleet Maintenance, Events & Volunteers, and Recreation. While these divisions have distinct roles, they operate in close coordination with one another. Collaboration is key, as the teams often provide direct support to each other to guarantee that services are delivered smoothly and efficiently to the community. This collaborative approach allows the Public Works Operations Department to address various needs and challenges promptly, effectively serving the community and upholding high standards of service excellence.
The City ensures efficient service delivery by utilizing a mix of resources, such as in-house staffing, partnerships with other government entities, collaborations with non-profit organizations, and private contractors.
