Public Works Operations
The Public Works Operations Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's infrastructure including public streets, traffic, surface water, parks and city-owned facilities.
Our Operations crew is divided into two teams, who often work together to accomplish larger tasks: Streets and Surface Water; and Parks and Streetscapes. Day to day, they perform routine maintenance duties, complete service requests submitted by residents and other city staff, respond to inclement weather related needs, provide emergency on-call services, and support City events; along with a multitude of other miscellaneous tasks that come their way.
Our Facility Maintenance team keeps City Hall and other city-owned facilities operating smoothly and in excellent interior and exterior condition.
Our Recreation and Special Events team processes reservations at City facilities, plans and executes the numerous popular City events each year and works with volunteers on many unique and meaningful projects within the City.
Since Kenmore is not a "full service" City, many assets are maintained by other entities or through external contracts. Some of these include potable water and sewer (Northshore Utility District), traffic and pedestrian signals (Washington State Department of Transportation and King County), streetlights (Puget Sound Energy) and street striping (King County).
