Park Rules

For everyone's enjoyment, please observe the following: 

  • Alcohol not permitted in parks.
  • Note signage regarding park hours. If no sign is posted, please comply with the sunrise to sunset park hours. 
  • No unauthorized vehicle traffic, outside of designated parking areas.
  • Help keep our parks clean and beautiful by placing trash in the proper receptacles. 
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Owners must clean up after their pets. 
  • Music and noise should be kept at a reasonable volume. 
  • Respect any private property which borders the park area.

The Public Works Operations - Parks and Facilities Maintenance Division, is responsible for various aspects of the day to day operation and maintenance of park landscapes, irrigation, playgrounds, athletic fields, skate court, park restrooms and city owned building interiors and exteriors. Services are provided to the community by our in-house operations and maintenance crew and through a variety of contracts with private vendors and public agencies.

Park Maintenance

The Public Works Operations - Parks Maintenance Division, is responsible for the maintenance of city parks, trails and other properties including: Rhododendron Park, Log Boom Park, Northshore Summit Park, Linwood Park, Squire's Landing, Wallace Swamp Creek Park, Jack Crawford Skate Court, Tolt Pipeline Trail, City Hall Grounds and Moorlands Park & Athletic Field. 

Park Reservations

  • Moorlands Park Athletic Field Reservations
    The athletic field at Moorlands Park is available for use by youth sports leagues. There are two use periods per year: January to June and July to December. 

  • Rhododendron Park Picnic Shelter Reservations 
    The picnic shelter at Rhododendron Park is available for rental through the Kenmore Senior Center. Rental periods include half day options (10:00 am to 2:00 pm or 2:30 pm to dusk) or a full day option (10:00 am to dusk). Please contact the Kenmore Senior Center at (425) 489-0707 for questions.

Facilities

City Hall

The 21,000 ft2 City Hall building, built in 2010 is located in the heart of downtown Kenmore and is home to most City Departments including the City Manager’s Office, Finance, Development Services, Community Development, Police, and Public Works – Engineering, Environmental Services, & Operations. City Hall is open to the public Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm. Parking is available in the underground parking garage or the surface lot and limited term on-street parking is also available. Council meetings and other public meetings are typically held in the Council Chambers during the evening hours. The Council Chambers and the Community Meeting Room are both available to residents and non-residents to reserve. Kenmore City Hall is maintained by in-house Facilities Maintenance staff in combination with private contractors.

Temporary Public Works Yard

Street and Park Maintenance divisions are located at a temporary site on the corner of SR 522 and 67th Ave NE. The City is currently looking for a permanent location for the Operations Division.

The Hangar and Town Square

The 4,500 ft2 Hangar building, completed in 2017 is a City owned pubic community gathering space that is open seven days a week. Diva Espresso occupies half of the facility in a leased space while the other half is available to the public. The space is open to the public, but may be reserved by Kenmore residents free of charge. Town Square is the exterior community gathering space that features outdoor seating, a water feature and a venue for City events. The City is responsible for maintenance and operation of both spaces. 

Kenmore Senior Center

The Kenmore Senior Center, located at Rhododendron Park, is a branch of the Northshore Senior Center. The Kenmore Senior Center along with the Northshore Senior Center offers health clinics, classes, clubs, a computer lab, special events, Wellness Project, Adult Day Centers, social services and trips galore. A listing of regularly scheduled activities, classes, and services of the Kenmore Senior Center, special events, trips, support groups and general announcements are available for free. Pick up your copy of the quarterly newsletter at the reception desk of the senior center. The picnic shelter at Rhododendron Park is available for rentals through the Kenmore Senior Center by calling (425) 489-0707.
