Human Services
Human services are social, behavioral, and health services to address the safety, well-being, and self-sufficiency of residents of all ages. Often with a special focus on vulnerable populations, these services can help to improve overall quality of life through prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery support.
As a function of local government, the City of Kenmore plans, facilitates, and funds programs to help connect people with resources and solutions during times of need, sometimes in collaboration with other agencies. Help for single people, children, teens, families, and older adults can be in the form of income support, transportation connections, services for individuals with disabilities, housing and food assistance, homelessness prevention, physical and behavioral health support, and positive youth development. Please visit the Community Resource/Support Hub page for a description of available services and how to access them.
City staff created a Human Services Guide to help residents navigate a complex network of resources available throughout the county. This booklet is full of phone numbers to call to access a wide variety of services.
In addition, a Senior Housing Assistance Resources handout assembled by the North Urban Human Services Alliance (NUHSA) provides phone numbers for seniors to access regional housing-related help.
Printed copies of both of these resources are available on the resource wall in the city hall lobby, on the resource table at the Hangar, and at the Kenmore Senior Center in Rhododendron Park.
