The goal of this project is to provide a safe pedestrian path and street crossings along NE 192^nd St from 73^rd Ave NE to 75^th Ave NE.  Along with sidewalk, there will a be reduction in pedestrian crossing by reducing the radii and adding flashing beacon. There is also a culvert replacement within this project.

The project limits include the south and west side of NE Arrowhead Dr from 64th Ave NE to NE 151^st St (herein referred to as NE Arrowhead Dr). The goal of this project is to provide a safe pedestrian path and street crossings to Arrowhead Elementary School as well as to provide traffic calming on NE Arrowhead Dr.

Burke Gilman/SR522 Accessibility Project

2023-2026

Budget: $2,000,000

Design has begun to complete an American's with Disabilities (ADA) connection from SR522 to the Burke Gilman Trail.

The 61st Ave NE Sidewalk Replacement project will replace the damaged sidewalk on the east side of 61st Ave NE between NE 190th St and 62nd Ave NE. In addition, new flashing crosswalk signs will be installed at the 61st Ave NE intersections of NE 192nd St and 60th Ave NE. The corridor will also be re striped for bike lanes, replacing much of the on-street parking along this corridor.

Twin Springs Park Project

The 25-acre Twin Springs Park site was acquired by the City of Kenmore in 2016 from King County to be used for a public park and open space site. The park is located on the east side of 80th Avenue NE between NE 192nd and 195th Streets. Twin Springs Park is recognized as an ecologically rich site with wetlands, steep slopes, and existing forest.

City-Owned Property - 7010 NE 181^st Street:  Notification of Tree Removal

On November 26^th, 2024, starting at approximately 8:30am, Northwest Arboriculture will be removing a fir tree on City owned property (7010 NE 181st Street) which is near the south property line of the Lakewood Mobile Home Park (6837 NE 182^nd Street). The aerial map below shows the location of the tree. A certified arborist completed a tree assessment and recommended the removal of the tree due to its condition.  The City obtained a tree removal permit and residents in the Lakewood Mobile Home Park were notified via delivered letter the week of November 18.

25 Degrees is a 276-unit condominium project located at 68^th Avenue NE & NE 182^nd Street (JG Murphy’s Auction site). The project proposal includes five (5) new low-rise buildings and a new park and plaza area with public access to the Tolt River Trail (the park will be open to the public via a pedestrian easement and privately owned/maintained by the developer). A wetland is located along the north property and parallel to the Tolt Trail. The project includes wetland buffer restoration/enhancement work, contamination clean-up, and a 38,354-square-foot critical area preservation area (no work occurs in the wetland). Approximately 850 linear feet of frontage improvements (i.e., curb, gutter, and sidewalks) are proposed along NE 182^nd Street. The project will be phased: Phase I includes the park, three buildings on the south side of the property and frontage improvements; Phase II includes the remaining two buildings in the northern portion of the site and wetland buffer enhancement work.

Glacier Northwest (doing business as CalPortland) proposes to remove approximately 800 cubic yards of material within the previously maintained 16,000-square-foot berth area as a maintenance dredging action. The project is proposed to provide safe access for vessels and barges to the terminal by removing sand, gravel, and minor amounts of sediment from the berthing area through maintenance dredging. Project Location: 17715 80th Ave NE Kenmore, WA 98028 (parcel number 011410-0843)

Project description: Proposed development of one (1) 6-story apartment building consisting of 53 multi-family residential units and 48 parking stalls. Of the units, 48 are market-rate and 5 are affordable (50-70% AMI). The western portion of the property is located within 200 feet of Swamp Creek, and the southwestern corner of the property is located within the 150-foot Swamp Creek stream buffer. Approximately 150 linear feet of frontage improvements (i.e. curb, gutter, and sidewalks) are proposed along 80th Avenue NE. The property is zoned Residential-18 (R-18) and is within the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) overlay district. Although the project is not located in a Design Standards Area, TOD proposals are subject to the Area 1 Downtown Design Standards.
