On January 9, 2025, the City approved an application to establish a temporary outdoor homeless encampment operated by Camp United We Stand to be located at Northlake Lutheran Church (6620 NE 185th Street, Kenmore, WA 98028). The proposed temporary use will last for 125 consecutive days, starting January 31, 2025, and will provide support for up to 35 unhoused individuals.
In October 2024, the City of Kenmore's Development Services Department received a Notice of Intent from Camp United We Stand (CUWS) to establish a temporary outdoor homeless encampment at Northlake Lutheran Church.
In November 2024, CUWS mailed notices to neighbors within 1,000 feet of the property to inform them of their intent to host the encampment. On December 6, 2024, CUWS submitted an application for a temporary use permit. Links to commonly requested permit documents are provided below.
On January 8, 2025, CUWS hosted an informational meeting open to the public regarding the temporary outdoor homeless encampment. The meeting was accessible online via Zoom.
