Please note that most, but not all, agencies listed serve Kenmore residents, and many are experiencing high demand. Utility Assistance:  

• Hopelink Energy Assistance - Financial assistance for energy costs for those who qualify.  Appointments available at several convenient locations.

• Northshore Utility District  Low Income Discount Program - Eligible households can save 45% of the current base water rate and 50% of the non-King County portion of the current sewer base rate. 

• Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Bill Discount Rate Program - Eligible households can save 5% - 45% on their PSE Energy bill. Additional Assistance may be available through the Home Energy Lifeline Program (HELP). 

Shelter:

• Lake City Partners Seasonal Winter Shelter (SWS): Operating nightly until February 15 for individuals experiencing homelessness during the winter months. The shelter will operate by referral only through the LCP website Additional details:  
  • Located in North Seattle (District 5) 
  • Hours: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM. Guests may stay for one night or throughout the entire shelter season. If they plan to return, staff will hold their space nightly. 
  • Meals: A hot dinner and cold breakfast will be provided daily 
  • Facility Type: Congregate-style shelter with cots, mattresses, bedding, and pillows provided 
  • Animals are not permitted 
  • Limited onsite parking is available for operable, licensed, and registered vehicles. RVs and campers are not permitted.  
• Severe Weather Shelter: During Tier-3 weather events and activation by the King County Regional Homelessness Authority, severe weather shelter will also be available in North King County. When it is available, more information on location can be found here, or by calling the Severe Weather Shelter Navigation Hotline: (206) 245-1026. Anyone can use this hotline during severe weather activations for information on shelters and navigating to shelter locations. Families with children can call to be connected with a shelter and a ride to that location.   

• Center for Human Services (CHS)  - Offers family support programs including “Kaleidoscope Play & Learn,” “Out of School Time,” parent education workshops and Kinship Caregiver Support. Other CHS Community-Based Intensive Services are described under the Mental Health Counseling and Services tabl.

• Child Care Resources (CCR) - The information and Referral program assists families in their childcare search by referring them to child care providers, community resources, and education about quality child care. CCR also provides customized, culturally relevant and inclusive Technical Assistance and Training to child care providers to strengthen their delivery of child care.

• Crisis Connection – King County Teen Link 1-866-833-6546 - A confidential and anonymous help line for teens.  Trained volunteers are available to talk with teens about any issue.

• KidVantage (formerly Eastside Baby Corner) - Providing basic necessities for children, from baby food and formula, to clothing, car seats, and toys.

• King County Youth Services - King County offers a variety of services designed to connect youth to community and promote mental health and wellbeing.

• NAMI Eastside (National Alliance on Mental Illness) - Providing a range of mental health education classes, presentations, and advocacy in East King County.

• Northshore YMCA School-Aged Child Care and Enrichment Services - Providing engaging before and after-school programs.

• Wonderland Child & Family Services - Serving children with developmental delays, disabilities, and prenatal substance exposure

• Crisis Connections - King County 24-hr Crisis Line: 1-866-4CRISIS (1-866-427-4747) - 24-Hour Crisis line providing immediate help to individuals, families, and friends of people in emotional crisis.
  
  
• Crisis Connections - King County 211 - Dial 211 for health & human services resources and referrals including options for housing and financial assistance, as well as food bank locations.

• Kenmore Elementary PTA Social Services Committee - Supporting the Kenmore Elementary School community.
  
  
• King County Sexual Assault Resource Center - 1-888-99VOICE (1-888-998-6423) 24-Hour Confidential Crisis Line providing crisis intervention, information, referrals, and on-going support to victims, friends, family members, and anyone who is concerned about sexual assault, child abuse, or safety in their community.

• Regional Crisis Response Agency (RCR, pronounced "racer") - A collaborative effort among the north King County cities of Bothell, Kenmore, Kirkland, Lake Forest Park, and Shoreline, providing consolidated and standardized regional mobile crisis response services for the five-city region.

• YMCA Crisis Support - 206-461-3222 - Help for kids, young adults, and/or families experiencing an acute mental health crisis.

• Crisis Connections - King County 211 for Health and Human Services - Providing referrals for housing, food, and financial assistance.

•  Heron Haven Kenmore Senior Women's Shelter - Operated by Lake City Partners, this specialized shelter program serves retirement-age (or close to retirement age) women seeking shared housing solutions for affordability.

• Hopelink Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing - Providing comprehensive services to help families move from crisis to stability.
  
  
• Hopelink Kirkland/Northshore Food Bank and Emergency Services - Providing non-perishable food items to registered participants during scheduled hours.
  
  
• Hopelink Mobile Market - A mobile truck service which makes regular stops around the community distributing free food.

• Kenmore Senior Center Community Food Pantry - Free and open to anyone in the community. 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at Rhododendron Park, 6910 NE 170th Street, Kenmore.

• Lake City Partners Ending Homelessness - The Shelter provides sleeping quarters for guests rotating through sites hosted by local congregations. Onsite case management connects guests with housing, job programs and other services.

• Mary's Place - Providing safe, inclusive shelter and services that support women, children, and families on their journey out of homelessness. Although no longer located in Kenmore, families looking for immediate shelter can call 206-245-1026 for information and help.

• Salvation Army's Street Level Program - Providing comprehensive outreach, referrals, and other supports to individuals living in their cars in King County. Eastside Outreach and Engagement Specialists Brittany (206-735-9359) and TC (206-735-9145) are available Tuesday - Thursday.

• The Eastside Legal Assistance Program (ELAP) provides no-cost civil legal aid to low-income residents of East, Northeast, and Southeast King County, as well as legal aid to survivors of domestic violence throughout all of King County.

• Hopelink Financial Assistance - Assistance including eviction prevention may be available to those who are in financial crisis due to unexpected expenses.
  
  
• King County Bar Foundation Pro Bono Services - Provides free legal consultations to low-income King County residents covering issues such as securing unemployment, health care issues, family law questions and housing rental information.

• A Regional Coalition for Housing (ARCH) - A public organization created by cities in East King County to assist member cities with developing and administering local affordable housing programs. Kenmore is a member city.

• City of Kenmore’s Planning Initiatives, including the Housing Strategy Plan and Manufactured Housing Communities - City of Kenmore webpage that outlines planning initiatives underway in Kenmore.

• Housing Connector, Housing for All - This nonprofit seeks to increase access to housing for individuals most in need by streamlining housing searches and working with residents and property managers to resolve challenges.

Africans on the Eastside - Non-profit organization whose mission is to support youth and families by providing outreach, education, advocacy and leadership training, and other help, including culturally sensitive support services for immigrants and marginalized communities.

Immigrant and Refugee Community Resources - King County Sheriff's Office resource page providing information on legal and social service providers, government and community programs centered on serving immigrants, refugees, and victims of crime.

Family Separation Rapid Response Team - This page provides resources and news on an initiative by the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families to improve policies and practices statewide to protect children whose parents or guardians are detained or deported due to immigration status.

• HealthPoint - A community-based, community-supported, and community-governed network of non-profit health centers dedicated to providing high-quality medical and dental care to all who need it. 
  
  
• NLC Prescription Drug Discount Program - National League of Cities program which provides discount cards for residents.
  
  
• Washington Health Benefit Exchange - A state-managed marketplace for health and dental insurance coverage for Washington residents.

• Methadone Clinics in the Seattle Area - Methadone treatment is a safe and effective treatment for opioid use disorder.

• Prescription Drug Drop Off Program - Provides citizens with a free and easy way to keep our community safer by properly disposing of prescription medications. 

• Community-Based Intensive Services - The Center for Human Services provides behavioral health support through two programs designed to reduce social, emotional, and behavioral challenges and other barriers to success in the family:
  • WISe (Wraparound with Intensive Services) Program - Intensive behavioral health support at home and in the community.
  • Infant and Early Childhood (IEC) Mental Health Program - Relationship-oriented therapy for pregnant women, children from birth to 6 years old, and their families.
    
    
• Mental Health Counseling - The Center for Human Services provides person-centered mental health services at their clinics and designated schools.

Created by University of Washington Bothell students, this summer 2024 outreach campaign highlights two assistance programs that are currently underutilized by Kenmore residents - the King County Property Tax Exemption Program and the Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Bill Discount Rate Program. • Northshore Transportation - A partnership with King County Metro, Community Transit, Hopelink, and other agencies to provide transportation services to Northshore residents.
